Couldn't get past Neal insisting on making the rental car example all about his and Cali's specific situation. Dave's attempt at an example was perfectly fine and got derailed when Neal chimed in.

Note to Neal: It's not about you. It's about the listener. Be the moon and reflect what's important to them instead of trying to be the sun that everything else revolves around. I shouldn't feel like a fly on the wall of this conversation. Make me feel a part of it.

Sorry if that sounds overly critical to some (or maybe even making a big deal out of a seemingly small issue), but as a broadcaster for a good while, I can tell you that having thick skin is part of the job description (and it's things like this that drive people away).

Sage advice and it is something that a lot of younger people think very little about today.

Being wealthy is about being valuable. That can be to nation, family or friends.

Thanks.. :) Subscribed.

This is a great idea. I've always said there needs to be a show out there that focuses on the principles of discussing a people centric approach to wealth. We don't have to be the willing fodder of consumerism. But there's so much unlearning to do to realize that truth.

I'm excited to see where this is going guys. Any blog that starts out with "live debt free" is going to be an amazing ride. God bless and good luck!

I know that, generally, "Live debt-free" means no debt other than a mortgage, which I've never had a problem with doing. However, I absolutely hate having my mortgage debt, and I really want to pay it off. Actually, if I can just increase my annual gross pay by $20,000, then I can pay of my mortgage rather quickly.

I'm really looking forward to the new show!

I'm glad rule number 1 is live debt free. Being debt free makes all the others so much easier. I recently was laid-off from a financial services job, but since my wife and I live debt free, except a mortgage we can manage on one income, it's not the end of the world. I'm taking to time off to re-evaluate what I want to do next. If we were not debt free I'd probably be taking any job that presented itself out of desperation.
