Episode #11 | Search Engine Optimization, True Wealth, Working for the Man, and Copywriting (Oh My!)
October 7th, 2009 at 2:05 pmNo problem Seth. It’s a fair question to inquire as to why I’m shooting my mouth off on a particular topic. And by the way, I do not claim to be an expert, as I do not spend all my days slaving over SEO. But the fact that even Sergey and Larry likely originally referred to my site when learning HTML does give me a little street cred.
As far as the SEOMoz link you referred to is concerned, it is merely listing a few of the more than 200 factors that Google takes into consideration. Heading elements within the page do indeed contribute, and they also make a site more navigable. And frankly, readability is just as important to search because it will help bring inbound links, and help lower a page’s bounce rate – both additional factors that impact search rank.
Cheers,
John P.
